Class Descriptions

My Grownup and Me (1.5-3 years): This class focuses on getting the little ones to move, learn basic movement and music, and have fun. The class requires the parent or caregiver to participate and help the child with movement.

Creative Ballet (3-4 years): A fun yet planned out class will be given. The children will stretch, learn basic positions and movement, use small and big movements both with the instructor and creatively, and finish up with Grand Jetes.

Pre Ballet (4-5 years): This class is a step up from Creative Ballet. It will consist of more structure, more positions and movements, an organized across the floor, learning of classical ballet music, learning music tempos, and ending in grand jetes.

Creative Jazz (4-5 years): A fun creative jazz class which includes stretching, beginning jazz movements, across the floor, creative exploring, and leaps; all done to music they love.

Tiny Tap/ Jazz (4-5 years): This class starts with creative jazz for 25 minutes and then switches to basic tap for 20 minutes. Great classes for kids who want to try both dance styles.

Lil Zumba (4-5 years): This class is a fun way for kids to get their energy out while dancing in an exercise format, and learning some basic zumba movements. Some games and zumba activities will be a part of this class.

Ballet for K (5-6 years): Students in this class will start using the barre for a few ballet warmup exercises. Class will begin with floor stretches, then barre, center, across the floor, leaps, and one classical free movement song.

Jazz I (5-6 years): Class will start with center warmup, stretches, basic body isolations, and basic jazz steps. Students will practice jazz steps across the floor and end class with jumps and leaps.

Hip Hop I (5-6 years): This class starts with a fun up beat warmup, including basic isolation and hip hop movement. Stretching will be included as well as across the floor and little combinations.

Contemporary I (5-6 years): Students in this class will learn basic contemporary movement and the coordination of upper body and lower body movements together. Music will be a collection of softer pop music, lyrical, soft rock, world, and drums.

Tap I (5-6 years): Students in this class will start to learn the basic tap steps, including; timing, sounds, and coordination. Center, across floor, and short combinations will be given.

Boys Hip Hop (6-9 years): A class just for boys. It will be fun, upbeat, high energy hip hop movements. Across the floor and center combinations will be given.

Ballet I (6-7 years): Class will begin with floor stretches, then barre, center, across the floor, and grand jetes. More barre exercises will be given and more center ballet exercises.

Ballet II (7-8 years): Class begins at the ballet barre. Barre lasts 25 minutes, followed by 10 minutes of center stretch and ballet positions, and ending with across the floor and jetes. Proper center, arm, and foot placement is emphasized.

Jazz II (7-9 years): Class will start with center warmup, stretches, body isolations, and basic jazz balances and turns. Students will practice jazz steps, turns, and leaps across the floor. Class will end with a short combination.

Hip Hop II (7-9 years): Students will enjoy this fun upbeat class. A center warmup, isolations, stretching, hip hop movements and combinations will be given.

Contemporary II (7-9 years): Class will start with a warmup incorporating strength, flexibility, and release technique. Students in this class will learn contemporary movement and the coordination of upper body and lower body movements together. Music will be a collection of softer pop music, lyrical, soft rock, world, and drums.

Tap II (7-9 years): Students in this class will continue perfecting basic tap steps and work on timing and coordination. Center, across the floor, and combinations will be given.

Zumba Kids (7 years and up): This is a highly active, get moving, fun, upbeat dance exercise class. Kids learn routines that are broken down to their favorite music.

Salsa Kids (8 years and up): Students in this class will be taught salsa on 2, mambo style. Class will focus on timing, the basic steps, shines, and coordination.

Ballet III (8 years and up): This class requires the instructor’s approval and prior ballet training. Students will start at the barre for 35 minutes, then center for 10 minutes, and across the floor for 15 minutes. Ballet students will be taught proper center placement, positions, and correct technique.

Ballet IV (9 years and up): This class requires the instructor’s approval and prior ballet training. This is an intermediate level ballet class and all students in this level should have completed at least 2-3 years prior ballet training.

Jazz III (10 years and up): Class begins with a center warmup emphasizing on strength, flexibility, and balance. Isolations and center turns will be taught, as well as, across the floor and more complex combinations.

Hip Hop III (10 years and up): This is a fun, high energy; all while working on more complex hip hop movements. Students will be challenged in movement as well as combinations.

Contemporary III (10 years and up): This is an advanced intermediate contemporary class. Prior contemporary experience required and students are encouraged to be in ballet class as well.

Tap III (10 years and up): This class builds on the prior technique of Tap I and Tap II. More advanced steps are taught and more complex sounds and rhythms.

Ballet V (10 years and up): This class requires the instructor’s approval and prior ballet training. This is an advanced intermediate level ballet class and all students in this level should have completed at least 3-4 years prior ballet training.

Beginning Point/ Ballet V: Students in this class will be required to be enrolled in both ballet V classes and the instructor will only approve point shoes when the student is ready.

Stretch and Strengthen (Teen/Adult): A great class to increase flexibility and improve on your strength using low impact mat exercises and resistance stretches. This class will benefit the dancer looking to improve on their flexibility or strength or the adult looking for exercise and a way to de-stress.

Adult Salsa: This class is a salsa on 2, mambo style class. Shines and partner work will be taught. Class will start with isolations, warmup, basic steps, shines, and then partner work. Students will be taught in a structured format and build on each week.

Beginning Adult Ballet: It is never to late to start ballet. Whether a seasoned adult dancer, a returning ballet student, or a first time student; you will learn something in this ballet class. Class will focus on teaching proper technique and alignment through the use of group corrections as well as individual corrections.
