Stephanie Nicole Knox
Owner and director of
Jete Dance Studio, Inc
Stephanie was born and raised in California where she started her dance training at Class Act Dance Studio in Paso Robles. Her love of dance grew as a child at a very young age. By 15, she received a scholarship in recognition for her excellence in dance. The scholarship of acceptance
was to the Idyllwild Arts Academy in California. During her years at the Idyllwild Arts Academy she received intensive dance training. The training included ballet, point, partnering, modern, jazz, and choreography. Stephanie graduated with high honors from Idyllwild Arts Academy and further pursued her dance education at the New World School of the Arts in Miami, Florida. As a dance major at the New World School of the Arts, Stephanie also studied ballet and modern dance at the Miami City Ballet School. From
there, her journey in dance lead to Charlotte, North Carolina. During the time in Charlotte, she trained at the North Carolina Ballet School. Shortly after, Stephanie became a company member for two recognized modern dance companies; Kinetics Dance Ensemble and American Dance
Art. Both companies performed and traveled the north east. In 2002, Stephanie was contracted for the Kim Robards Dance Company in Denver, Co. While at Kim Robards Dance Company, she performed regionally and throughout the mid-west. Aside
from performing, Stephanie was also an instructor for the dance school in Denver. Her love and passion for dance continued as she moved to New York. Once in New York, Stephanie trained at
multiple dance centers throughout the metropolitan area. By 2004, she began teaching ballet and modern dance throughout Westchester County. She also went back to school and achieved
her A.S. in Mathematics from WCC. In 2015, she chose to enhance her dance training by learning salsa at Santo Rico Westchester. Shortly after going through the training, she joined the
Santo Rico Westchester Performance Company through 2016. Stephanie has been an instructor for the JCC of Mid-Westchester in Scarsdale for 12 years. While there, she developed a high
level of dance excellence and a wonderful caring relationship with the director and students. Stephanie's passion for ballet and dance has lead her professional career into opening Jete Dance Studio. She hopes to make a positive impact and share her love of dance with all the students here at Jete.
